I THINK I MAYBE CAN HAS FOUND HOUSING.
May. 8th, 2008 07:46 pmIt's expensive, but there are openings, it's shiny, and all utilities are paid. It's like a dormy mathing except off-campus and I'd have my own apartment to myself.
There's just two catches, that kind of make me nervous: 1. I'm not allowed to have people overnight (and what's the point of having a shiny place all to yourself if visitors can't stay over? bah..) and 2. I can't play an instrument in my room, which means that I won't be able to have guitar for long periods of time. This doesn't really concern me, cause I'm sure there are guitar stores/others with guitars outside this place I can play, but the level of nazi-ism is somewhat disconcerting. Oh well, I don't care. THe person on the phone was really nice, everything's easy and [barely] affordable, and they have openings.
In other happy news, my job is shifting a little bit--I'm receiving training for what I was *actually* hired to do, which is barcode old journals and microfilm...and so now that I'm doing more of that and less unpacking, there's less running around the warehouse and less heavy lifting. Which means that I feel like I'm about to faint...less of the time. And that is just awesome. \o/
Today was also really lightweight in terms of work, since I took off the morning to go to the RMV and renew my driver's permit. I'm going to be practicing...I'm not sure what nonexistent free time will be devoted to this, but y'know :)
Finally, unless something goes terribly wrong, one month from this very moment I will be in Tucson. HOLY CRAP.
Just...wow.
