There is something to be said for Latin teachers who don't make you take a final exam provided you finished all the prior work.

And let you proceed to watch your friends and classmates performing Hamlet to the beat of Sandstorm.

And there is something to be said for friends with whom you can hang out with in cafés and bagel shops taking photos and laughing.

And catch other friends cutting school to go get bagels of their own.

And there is something to be said for friends with whom you can go to Menotomy Rocks Park with and climb the Indian and dance along the rocks while doing an improvised coreography of La Vie Boheme.

And making jokes about little kids and jelly.

And for watching them fall in a fountain and not notice for awhile that they have blood running down their arm.

And walking back with said blood running...two blocks down Mass. Ave.

And for walking home through the tranquil post-noon.

And for going to sleep because short or not, it's been a full day.
