Random & Facepalm
Jun. 15th, 2008 10:28 pmVerily, I am an old woman. Today my muscles have been completely sore and my first thought is DAMN THIS RAIN. It can't be healthy for someone my age to feel like this.. ^^;;
Due to the sort of craptastic weather, I spent today loafing around playing Phoenix Wright. I am SO CLOSE to finishing the 2nd game, but I have gotten completely stuck and since I already gamefaq'd once, I'm convinced that I have to figure out the ending all by myself. It is the most epic and amazing way to waste time ever. I love it. ^^
Just as a side note, I have my schedule for the fall that I set up at orientation. It's annoyingly devoid of classes in my major, but at least the GE requirements seem interesting. Apparently my year at NEU didn't do me that much good in that regard...and my SAT scores totally alleviate my need for a math class, rendering my semester of calc useless. Whoops.
So anyway, my classes are:
Intro to Weather & Climate (first science class I've had since chemistry in what...11th grade? 3-4 years ago? Ahah.)
Writing Systems of the World (ftw \o/)
Lesbian and Gay Studies (this seemed like a total drag at first, and I was just taking it because it was the only thing that fit my schedule and was in the same category as Modern Perspectives on Latin American Social Science, the course I *actually* wanted to take. But now that I think about it, it should be interesting to get a different regional perspective on the culture and the issues)
Intermediate Spanish (I love how at NEU, I placed out of 6th semester Spanish, but at the U of A, I'm barely placed into 4th semester. Hurrah for people having standards. :3)
Aeronautics: Science and People (this was totally random, but it fulfills a requirement that I need. Hopefully it'll be more interesting than it appears...)
And yeah. For a schedule totally made of random requirements, I'm decently excited. I've never had 5 college classes before, though. It promises to be an adventure.
On another forward-looking note, my dad told me today that he wants me to get my license before I leave for AZ. The thought makes me cringe in dread. I'm so bad at driving! I can sort of see his point in wanting me to do it, but at the same time it's not like I'm going to be able to afford a car, much less insurance and all that crap, even if I COULD pass a road test.
Which at this point I totally couldn't. And beyond the fact that driving terrifies me (not so much because I'm scared for my life, but more that I'm nervous I'll damage the property of others/the only car my parents have), I feel bad wasting so much gas just practicing driving around when the price of oil is so obscene. But if I'm going to do it, I have to schedule my road test asap and practice like a fiend o_o; I don't know what to do. Hmm.
Yay pointless entries. But hey, it's been that sort of a day.
