North Shore is Deth
Jul. 19th, 2008 11:23 pmThis morning I woke up reasonably early (around 9, as opposed to the planned on 7.30), to make my way over to Stephanie's house. We ended up looking at a lot of old clothes and she gave me advice on how to tailor some dresses I have, and then we made a pattern from a simple old skirt of hers that I really like. We didn't have the drive to actually get fabric and attempt to make it though, since it was around 90 degrees and the kind of humid that makes you want to curl up in a sweat-beaded ball and take a siesta.
We also didn't have much time since by 3PM I was coming back home to go out to a barbecue at my parents' friends' house in Swampscott friggen Mass. I hate the coastline 'burbs. The actual city is fine. But Lynn? Hull? ...Swampscott? We got totally friggen lost on the way there, and the way back was a toss-up between patches of really intense and harried lane switching and barreling through series of stoplights at 65 miles per hour...and patches of absolute gridlock caused by a firework display along Revere Beach. I feel totally drained and I wasn't even driving...
Still, today manages to feel not entirely wasted. Which is pretty cool.
