So today was my CLEP exam and I rocked it. It was actually ridiculously hard...there was a section with lots of questions where two Spanish speakers had a conversation for about a minute, and then you had to answer questions about what they said or talked about and you only got to hear the conversation once. At least on the AP exam, they replayed the clips two times for each conversation. On this one you really had to be on top of your game and try to catch every word you could while remembering all the rest. It was *brilliant* practice, but crazily stressful, too.
BUT IT'S DONE. I scored plenty enough to receive 12 credit-hours, 4 semesters of credit. Bam. Done. SWEET.
I spent most of the rest of the day in the computer lab, trying to access D2L which wasn't working for most of today. It was only AFTER the exam that I was able to run back and spend an hour scribbling down my aeronautics problems and trying to solve them.
It's really unbalanced, some of the problems are laughably simple and others required that the TA cover the board in equations to solve them. He said that some of the problems could be solved more easily using calculus, so I stayed after class with a few other people tospend more time listening to him see if I could follow the calc. Definitely couldn't. He did all sorts of crazy stuff manipulating it like a differential equation, and he did it really rapidly. I know that it's beyond a level of calc that I've ever really done but I still felt really stupid about it. I almost wish that I were taking more advanced math courses so that when people spit out calculations I'd be better equipped to understand. I AM SO CONFUSED ABOUT WHAT I WANT IN MY LIFE.
I'm pretty definitely happy about my de-facto Spanish minor, though. With the credit I got today I think I only have one or two more classes to take before I have enough credits for that minor.
So all things considered, today is one of those sort of rare yet satisfying days when it's pretty good to be me.
EDIT: Ray is going back home this weekend to visit and he offered to take me with him, I think I'm going to go. Yay random trips? :D I'm actually pretty excited, I have always wanted to visit the valley of the sun.
