arrowwhiskers: (sleepy)
So the class that I wanted possibly more than any other--US-Mexico Border Region...is somehow already full. Dang it!!! The only people able to register before today have been seniors, so...apparently all 60 seats were claimed by seniors? That's so....I dunno, it seems really miserable luck (for me, anyway).

But...while that's disappointing, I guess it's okay. I moved some stuff around and managed to keep the other classes that I wanted before, just at somewhat different times. I also got into the Global Warming course, which is *great*! And to replace the border regions course, I managed to work in a course called "Colonial Mexico", as well as a 1 credit 1st year colloquium that claims to be about the border. So...it'll be good, I hope.

So my next term schedule looks like this--

Monday, Wednesday, and Friday:
LAS368 Colonial Mexico (10.00-10.50)
SPAN325 Intermediate Grammar and Writing (11.00-11.50)
LAS337 Survey of Mexican Folk Music (12.00-12.50)
LAS195A US-Mexico Border from Integration to Separation (1.00-1.50 Wednesdays only)

Tuesday and Thursday:
ENGL102 First-year Composition (9.30-10.45)
PTYS212H Science and Politics of Climate Change (11.00-12.15)

I like how this schedule actually helps me remember that oh right, I AM an LAS major...and I have to admit, I couldn't be happier with the time slots. Balanced days, no agonizingly long breaks (or breaks at all, for that matter..) and I won't have a 9 o'clock anymore. (Since I live off-campus, 9 here is like an 8 at NEU) I have 9.30s a couple days but those are much more pleasant. I also love being done by the early afternoon...it's great. I can work any night of the week with this schedule, though I hope I'll be able to keep the work schedule I have.

And yeah. Also, I registered in the ILC, since I thought it'd be quicker than trying to go home. I was wroooong...because of homecoming, the entire mall is partitioned off, and in order to get in or out you have to walk endlessly out of your way. I entered the mall near Foreign Languages, because there were bushes in my way otherwise...and I literally had to walk all the way down to almost Cherry before I could get OUT and then backtrack to the library. Also, whenever I entered or exited, guards inspected my bag for alcohol. I don't really understand--there seemed to be drunk people aplenty on both sides of the barrier so uhm...who cares?

But anyway...yaaay for it being Saturday. \o/.
