Open up your plans and damn, you're free~
Feb. 12th, 2009 08:34 pmMy arms are all pumped out from climbing. That hasn't happened in ages. A variety of factors contribute to why I haven't been climbing as hard in AZ, but I've discovered the solution: traversing. A few weeks ago I saw this girl traversing along the wall, her muscles all strained out and it really inspired me. I've been doing it everytime I go and it helps a lot, I feel pretty strong. :)
On my way home from the gym today I stopped to get some green onions to add to my ramen for dinner. It was gross, I hate going places after climbing. I was covered in chalk and my hair was all sweaty, so I took my hat out of my bag in an attempt to keep the wind from messing with my hair more. This random guy who was walking by kinda stopped, and peeked around a street pole and said "excuse me!" I thought he was going to ask for directions but instead he kind of half-grinned and said "Nice look!" in a strange accent. And then he walked away. It took me soooo much by surprise! I felt so icky until that moment. :D I didn't know what to say so I was just like "ahah...thanks!" and just, d'awe! I don't think a stranger has ever complimented me before. o.o At least, not like that. Awwwwwwe ^_^
In the bathroom at the rock gym there's a sign saying they're hiring. It sets off sparks in my brain. I mean, I already have a job. But still. And...climbing even 5.8s in that gym are hit-or-miss for me..5.9s aren't happening. But still. Though...I'd have to work through the summer. Blar. That's honestly really the only thing keeping me from applying, the fact that I don't have a place to stay over the summer, and the fact that I'm long due for some Boston-time. LONG due. Long.
But seriously, working at a rock gym? Would possibly be my dream job. I'm not even kidding. It's to the point that even in spite of EVERYTHING, I'm tempted. I mean, I want to go home, butbutbut...
