arrowwhiskers: (sleepy)
So, my parents went home. Now that they're gone I'm starting to question if they were ever actually here, because the whole thing was just so surreal. Tidbits of photographic evidence are starting to appear--but it's all on my mom's smartphone, so I can't share any of it until she decides to upload to Facebook or something similar. We went to the Desert Museum on Tuesday and saw the Whole Damn Thing, which was absolutely lovely and awesome...though after the whirlwind trip to Flagstaff the day before I think it may have been just a little too much for me. I'm so tired. Two days later and I STILL can't seem to muster up the energy for much of anything, and my motivation is shot.

There's not that much time to rest and recover, though, because we're going to El Paso this weekend with Andres's dad. They're taking me to see the doctor in Juárez again. SO MUCH TRAVELLING AAAAA. But, I did give my word that I would be willing to try again as soon as I didn't have schoolwork, and it's a promise I'm determined to keep.

Here's a list of the things I'm too worn out to work on right now:
-cleaning the guinea pig cage. Andres clings to our experimental fleece bedding idea, except that he hasn't helped me clean it and it's just absolutely nasty and driving me insane. We just got another new type of fuzzy material that we're going to try, but honestly, I'm just humoring him. I think we should give in and move back to the pine bedding, cause at this point it's hard to deny that it just plain works better.

-transplanting my basil plant, and planting the cherry tomatoes I just got today! I got two pots for the purpose, and some soil, and plant food. What I didn't get was one of those automatic watering globe things to water while I'm away. Hmmmwhoops. I might need to go get one, cause I've read that tomatoes really need steady watering.

-resume building!! It looks like I'm unfortunately not qualified enough for the law office job (didn't do enough law-related internships I guess (read: any)), but the whole suggestion has reminded me that I should probably work on updating my resume to reflect my recent internships and my *degrees*. Proper job hunting hinges on assuming that I'll be better, though, which is really difficult...but what other choice do I have?

-making dinner. Last night I got some bok choy, veg oyster sauce, shitake mushrooms, tofu, and miso paste. Which would make a kickass fucking dinner, if standing up weren't such a huge undertaking...

Today we also went to the humane society and held a bunch of little kittens that are up for adoption <3 We both wanted one so bad--except that Andres fell in love with the feistiest of the bunch, who was like scratching and biting and playing a little too rough for my liking. He tried to put her back in her cage and she jumped out, missed his shirt, fell towards the floor before he caught her, and then tried to run away, but he grabbed her and she calmed down a little after that. She admittedly was really cute. :( Andres pouted all the way home...

I think I might finally be getting used to this new computer. It still feels like super overkill, though. I need to find something worthy to do with it. Like do fancy programming. Anyone have any ideas...?
