Oh, and have you ever seen The Singing Detective? It's this amazing six part series about a murder-mystery novelist who has some sort of skin disease (bad summary, but it's been a while since I it). The thing I remember most about it was that at the very beginning, I could barely stand to look at the main character, but after a while, I got used to the skin disease and was able to see his actual face beneath it. It was an interesting experience.
