So I've been working for the past three days, but I haven't really felt like writing about it until now. It's actually pretty fun stuff; my main task so far has been to do book processing in acquisitions and gifts, which basically entails barcoding books, wanding them into the computer, and then stamping them a bunch of times in the appropriate places before sending them off to be cataloged. My new supervisor is named Gary, and he's really nice, if not a bit stiff. He explained things very clearly and thoroughly, which was nice... I think I'm going to learn how to process invoices in the next week or two. I've also worked sufficiently enough that I can take tomorrow off, which will be nice since I may get to help Wen reorganize her room.

Even if I didn't like cleaning, I would owe Wen the favor because she went to the school to get my AP history work for me. Apparently the teacher is mad at me for my lack of committment to come and fetch it myself, but I didn't hear anything about a meeting, and I had to work at the time that he told me to pick it up. o.O;; THat's not very good, that he doesn't even know me and thinks that I'm lazy already...it just means that I'll have to write the best summer essay of them ALL. ...Yeah right.

I'm kind of in trouble for a couple of reasons. Number one is that I did rather badly on the SATs. Not too badly, but enough to make it so I should take them over. -_- Which is embarassing as hell, but oh well.
The second reason is that I have to go back to the MIT employment office and show them my social security card, and I've forgotten up until now. SInce I'm not working tomorrow, I HAVE to remember on Friday...and also, if I want direct deposit, then I need to bring them a check...but I can't find my checkbook. Which is a problem, mostly because I have NO clue where it could be. That's the problem with having a clean and organized room--you know where everything is, since everything has a spot, but every once in a while, something isn't in its designated spot, and you have NO idea where to look. Which is the case here; I've lost my checkbook, just as I seem to lose everything that's truly important, and I have no idea where to look for it, and I NEED it on Friday. -_-; I don't think I -lost- it, since money hasn't been magically disappearing from my account, but there's nowhere in my room that it could be that I haven't checked. And I've only ever used it once, and that was like...a year ago. Where could I have put it? God knows...

I also have to remember to read the stupid driver's manual so that I can get a permit. And I should do it sooner rather than later, but I keep forgetting about that, too.

Grahrah. At least soonish we're going to Maine for like a couple days. A couple days is an ideal period to go to Maine, in my opinion. A week is too long, and overnight is too short. But this is looking to be fun; apparently my aunt Janet got hold of a house in Rockport for a couple of days and we're going to go visit her there. I might get to go see the fireworks with Eric and Roman in Hallowell, which would be insanely fun. Robin may get to come up with us, too. Looking to be a good time. ^_^

...I just need to find my goddamn checkbook. -_____-

Hope your summers are going well.
