It all started when it started pouring rain at about 3 o'clock in the afternoon. Mom had been setting up for a backyard barbecue sort of thing, and suddenly the heavens unleashed a torrent of wet. She, along with our nextdoor neighbor, proceeded to become quite drenched as they scrambled to put things back inside. I stepped out to see if I might help, and within seconds, I was soaked through. I'm thinking it probably took two seconds. The backyard was totally flooded--the patio was brimming with rainwater, and the ground was covered by an extra three inches that the soil couldn't seem to soak up.
That was when mom decided we should probably have the party indoors. It was really crowded, and seemed even moreso since all the guests were at least a little damp. It was still fun though, since Carol's family came and Isaac and Bob went off to play video games while Carol and I snuck brownies from the tray, somehow managing to keep entertained.
After most the guests filtered out I addicted Macee to the music video site, and watched my Goo Goo Dolls DVD with Mark. Carol and Wen and I were going to make another attempt at seeing Howl's Moving Castle, but people were here so late that that fell through. Oh well.

Today is one of those strange yet nice days when I actually feel like I'm okay at everything I wish I could do. I played my acoustic a bit and I got some compliments from some people--that doesn't happen often. (I also **supposedly** get my electric back tomorrow~yei!) And more and more people have been telling me more and more often that my drawings are coming out well. That's a bit unusual also. It may be just that people are giving more conpliments lately, or that there are more oppurtunities for them to be given--but either way, it lends me a little more confidence, and that's gotta be a good thing...right?

Anyway. Another good thing is that with Sheezy down, and since nobody ever comments on these entries, I have little to no openings to communicate with people online--thus, I'm forced to do it in real life, if at all. I even almost feel a drive...almost. Which is a good sign for my waning sense of humanity.

Randomnote- I changed my desktop for the first time in ages today...it's now a picture of Kurt Cobain, set against a weird background I made in Photoshop. :D

...But that's not very interesting. Oh well.
