My parents have reassessed their plans and now the Maine trip is -this- weekend. I don't think I'll be going...though who is to say what is possible?

I think in the next few days, I am going to finish all of my college research, pass things in, and shove myself back on track. I really just need to get it done, since the guilt caused by excessive delay has made facing Mme. Lahey rather dreadful this week. If my parents let me stay home from Maine, then I will have the time.

Wen also says that the intergenerational book discussion book for this month is Dracula. I want a copy, so that I can get engrossed and pretend that my procrastination is justified. :D

At the moment my guitar has a broken string and I am too lazy to go acquire a new one. *nod*

And some random language facts/peculiarities-
1. In Germanic languages, apparently including English, there are 'weak' verbs that take their past participle with a 'd' or 't' sound--these are regular verbs in English; call => called, think = thought. Strong verbs take their past participle with a change of dipithong, or basically a difference in vowel sound. Examples being swim => swam, and fight => fought.
Can anyone think of a verb in English that doesn't fall into one of those categories? I've been trying to think of one all day without success. Then again, it always seems that those example words I'm seeking are always the ones that prove most elusive.
2. In Spanish, while feminine words beginning in a often take the masculine article to avoid a slurring of two a sounds (la agua becomes el agua; it just sounds better) feminine nouns ending in -dad, -dud, or -ción, or...some others I can't remember, do not follow this rule; la actidud. It looks rather odd, but apparently, it is correct. o.O

The discovery of such facts as those above, as well as the pronunciation of Polish consonants, are what have been occupying my lunch periods. Not to mention other time that should have been put towards something more productive. Even so, I wonder if any of this will ever be that useful one day.

J'ai sommeil. Sleep seems so much more alluring when you've never the time for it, I think.
