Last night was incredibly surreal. Having gotten about...no sleep on Thursday night, I was dying for a nap by the time I got home from school...and so I settled in for one, and the next thing I knew, it was 3.30 AM and I was wide awake. And nobody was online, so I forced myself back to sleep. Warm blankets in a cold house are the best remedy for insomnia I've found yet. :3

In other news, my family has picked up and gone to Maine, though evidently I am still here. It's really odd, being alone, since I don't think I've ever been left at home for a whole weekend without the charge of my brother. For some reason, having my brother to watch over feels like less responsibility than just being here myself...now things just feel vacant. I think I rather enjoy it, though. o.O

Oh, and before my mom left, she made me look through a bunch of clothes she was giving away, and I picked out a bunch of stuff not only that I wanted, but articles that I could see some other people being interested in. Giulia in particular, I have some clothes for you to at least -look at- and decide whether or not you want them. I'll probably bring them to school some time this week.

On an even more random note, I have figured out why German is considered so difficult. I was wondering for awhile, since apparently nouns don't decline, only their articles do. But it turns out that adjectives do decline! And it depends not only on gender and number, but also whether or not the noun is definite or indefinite AND where it's located in the sentence. o-o; It's all rather intimidating. I found this out during my lunch period yesterday, and was totally prepared to cut Spanish class so I could retreat back to the library and take more notes. Then I decided that it was kind of dumb to skip one language to study another, and I'm glad I changed my mind since in Spanish we watched this awesome tourist video on Bolivia. <3 <--- heart emoticon that LJ is likely to devour
Aaanyway, back to German, I'm not sure how far I'm going to get with it, since without a class I feel rather at a loss as to where to begin learning. The nice thing about French and Spanish is that their sentences generally have the same layout as English sentences, (except verb conjugation) so you learn some vocab, learn basic conjugations, and then start peicing things together. In German, I am so leery of creating sentences because it's like 'Oh god I just KNOW I'm declining the words wrong this sentence is insensical...;_;' but without any context, the declension rules are very difficult to memorize. I'm still trying to work with it, though...Matsu provides much needed inspiration. :3

My mom has also been in contact with Sensei and apparently we may restart kurasu come November. Which means we all have to relearn everything that we (well, I at least) have forgotten sicne the summer when we had class. Harharhar.

Okay, and now I have to make a list of everything I have to do this weekend. Which is purely for my own benefit, not to thrill the already nonexistant readership. :E

Stuff to Do )

I guess that's it. Should be a busy weekend. I wish it were a little sunnier. :\
