Not the best day ever.
Jan. 10th, 2008 01:28 pmSo today I woke up after insufficient sleep to discover that my computer broke itself. It did one of those auto update things and shut off, and now it freezes on the initial HP screen, and Windows refuses to boot up.
I didn't have much time to do much besides poke it and hit the emergency reset button a couple times to see if it would help, which it didn't (there isn't much else TO do about it)...before having to run off to Japanese, where I rediscovered the hiragana quiz that I'd somehow spaced out.
I mean, I know hiragana, so it was fine, but still...augh.
And then in calc I discovered that I didn't complete the problem set that happened to be due because I was too busy doing online reading for Human Service class, which, in the end, turned out NOT to be due today because there are two separate syllabi with different information and due dates.
Though...in the end, it's probably a good thing that I DID do that reading, because in the event that my computer ends up in a shop for an indeterminate amount of time, that's 70 pages less PDF file I have to read in the library.
Hugh has promised to look at my computer but I'm pretty skeptical that he'll be able to fix anything. Still, hope is something beautiful that this day has sort of...lacked so far. On the bright side, if I end up with no internet access in my room, I might actually get other things done for once.
I sort of want to go back to my room and take a nap and hope that when I wake up today never happened..except that the weather is still alarmingly nice and it's instilling in me a need to escape, if only ever so briefly. So I think I'm going to go get on a train. And be back before Hugh gets out of class, hopefully. Though the way this day is going...who knows.
