They're apparently making a new reality show about "Nerd Girls". It's going to be about the unconventional love lives of a bunch of university engineering chicks. Except that the girls that they picked were clearly not nerdy at all. Engineering majors they may have been, but they weren't ~nerdy~. They seemed quite together and girly and confident and socially capable.
A reality show about *real* nerd girls, the kind pulled out of anime clubs and science bowls, that's what I would like to see. This isn't going to do anything but create a lot of false perceptions. Granted, I guess you can't expect more from a reality show. Still, it disappoints me that only the slickest, most diva-tastic women are the ones that get the spotlight, even when they are flaunting the "nerdiest" sides of their nature.
Totally unrelated, but I took out my Japanese textbook out today, and reviewed all of the first semester stuff on a whim. It was refreshing, and enjoyable. I really don't know how I feel about Japanese. Sometimes I feel like it's just annoying and I have no affinity for it...but other times it's just...really fun. I definitely have SOME relationship with it, which is annoying because I can't figure it out.
...Also, I'm probably one of the few people on Earth (a select few on my flist being others) who can have an "it's complicated" relationship with a LANGUAGE.
...That said, I'm pretty sure my relationship with foreign language in general is more complicated still. Aheh.

Date: 2008-06-15 05:10 am (UTC)Oh, I don't think Spanish will mind as long as it gets in on the fun. And Japanese shouldn't care too much, unless it turns into a public spectacle. Though Japanese might also try to sell it as an idea for an Anime ;p
Cute picture btw.

Penis... I mean Sandy Vage......
Jeremy apparently opted out of rooming with us next year, so it's gonna be Matt, Pat, me, and some random fourth guy :(

I think Jeff, John, and Rizzo have a random 4th guy rooming with them, too...
