arrowwhiskers: (sleepy)

So after not doing my meteorology reading for 2-3 weeks, I spent the entirety of last night (read: no sleep) studying for my midterm this morning, since there was a shitload of material. Twas worth it; I think I did well enough at least, and I managed to drag myself to my other two classes, too. Not bad, considering.

As soon as I got out of Spanish, I ran into Mario and Maria on their way to the anime stand, and we got boba and lunch <3 The guy at Which Wich is so used to seeing my face that he gave me a free brownie and drink, saying that "I always come in, so it's okay, and I probably need some caffeine and sugar to be able to carry that heavy bag everywhere" o.O It was really nice of him, it's nice to actually be seen as a regular somewhere. :)
Then suddenly it was 1.30 and I realized that I'd blown off Christian for 3 consecutive climbing sessions...so against my better judgment I decided this week I had to go and bombed all the way to the gym on my bike through the light rain. It was a short climbing session, about 1.5 hours, but I don't think my sleep-deprived body could have dealt with much more. Even so, I'm glad I went, because I did get some good practice in, and my hands are all ripped up now, meaning they will heal stronger. I am going to buy a membership next week, when October starts and all the prices are brought down--and hopefully then start going Tuesdays and Fridays both.

The weather is interesting. It's rainy, but still very warm and not pouring like in the monsoon, so I don't really mind it. This morning, after a night spent huddled around my textbook with the shades drawn, I braced myself when I opened the door to leave, expecting to be flooded with sunshine. I was greeted by a huge blackish gray cloud obscuring the mountainside o.O; I have quickly grown to expect flawless weather, so it was surprising. It seems to have been raining a little bit on and off all day across the city. On the way back from the rock gym, I stopped at a café to regain my bearings, and sat outside at a table under a somewhat ineffective sunbrella and watched the rain falling. It was actually kind of pleasant, especially since I finally got my rain jacket in the mail after I'd supposed the monsoons had passed.

So basically I'm going on 40 hours of awakeness, and my body so cannot deal with this anymore. Something about AZ has totally obliterated my tolerance for sleeplessness. I just hope I haven't jeopardized my health too badly, because tomorrow is my second day of work, and I really want to see friendly-boy again. <3
