I've already expressed this to a few people already, but I am of the firm opinion that Mr. Morgenbesser is blind.
The situation is this, and Giulia or Wen can readily attest to it--in calculus class, I scarcely pay attention. For the entire duration I'm always doodling yaoi between my notes and chatting with Giulia in French about how boring it is, or what we might be doing later. I'm about the most uninspired student in the world--I scarcely take notes, I -don't- do the homework, like ever, I don't read the book, and I study for my tests in homeroom, if at all! I'm totally lost all the time and I never have the stamina to catch myself up, since frankly I don't have the energy for 7 classes, and I never really signed up for AP Calc in the first place. It's just awful, and I wish I had the motivation to do something about it, but...I just don't.
So, obviously, grades came this weekend...and my calculus grade was a B+. Admittedly higher than I expected, but that's not the shocking part. Mr. Morgenbesser's comment was 'Effort is excellent.', and I have only one thing to say to that--What the shit is he smoking? It's totally clear to ANYONE paying even the slightest bit of attention that my effort was [and is] nonexistent. So now it's excellent? I think Mr. Morgenbesser just redefined the word. Maybe my grade and comment got mixed up with someone else's? It's either that or Mr. Morgenbesser is mindbogglingly blind, which I think might actually be the answer. Wow.
ANYWAY I can't believe I wasted a whole 3 days doing absolutely nothing when I could have been catching up on work. Actually, I can believe it, though it's a little bit depressing >.>
Last night was amazing though. Deciding to take advantage of the last night of my family's abscence, I stayed up until 8.00 AM talking to Tara about TV pairings, among other things, and trading metal and techno in languages we don't understand. We also started this little online...I guess it could be considered an oekaki board, but, as Tara aptly called it--an MSPaint oekaki board. Roman joined it and we did some kanji review, though even now I'm forgetting a bit. I'm determined to get up to speed in Japanese again before next kurasu, though. >__>
Later in...well, the morning, haha, an old Algerian friend of mine signed on and we were exchanging a little bit of slang in French and English. He taught me that 'faire une toile' is something along the lines of 'catch a flick' (in terms of seeing a movie in a theater), and that the French equivalent of WTF is 'c'est quoi ce bordel?!'...but he also cautioned me that it was very, very vulgar and so I ought to take care when I used it. >.> Finally, in trying to teach him an English slang phrase, I learnt that if you want to say 'it's not the end of the world', then in French a good expression is 'it's not like you have to drink the sea...' or 'pas la mer a boire'. Snerk.
Anyway, I have to finish cleaning my room by the time my parents get back, which might be soon. Soo..yeah.

My world is askew.
