I've been wasting my new and copious free time watching Disney films dubbed in French. I had forgotten how awesome they were, and I'm actually catching things that I didn't get before, having previously watched these films when I was around 6 years old.

I never realized how Pocahontas was a) utterly an interracial drama, b) showing the Native Americans to be the protagonists, while still portraying them as really overly religious pagans who practiced witchcraft and such, c) really poorly paced. John and Pocahontas meet what, three times, before they're desperately in love? and what does John do to win her affections..?

I also totally forgot that at like the VERY BEGINNING OF ROBIN HOOD Robin Hood and Little John totally crossdress and Little John hides gold in his "boobs". And Prince John is a sulky with a mommy complex. XD

It's not that I didn't NOTICE these things before, it's that they just never really meant anything when I was younger. It was totally feasible back then, if not a little humorous that Prince John would snivel and suck his thumb when his mother was mentioned. Now it's like..what? XD

This entry is totally pointless and random. But I guess I'll post it anyway.

I've never liked the Disney Pocahontas. The songs were annoying and I disliked the animation. I'm trying to figure out by which film the animation started to get bad (in my eyes)...

ROBIN HOOD IS LOVE!!!

Haha, yes. Though I've just now noticed that it is really poorly paced as well. But that's okay, it's wonderful anyway <33333. x3
